Bullying and Suicide Prevention
The Pittsburg Unified School District believes that our students and staff have the right to be free of bullying, threats, intimidation and harassment while on our campuses or participating in or being associated with any school/district related activity.
In accordance with these beliefs and commitments, PUSD has adopted Board Policy 5145.3
Bullying is defined as intentionally aggressive behavior, repeated over time, that involves an imbalance of power. This could apply to physical, verbal, sexual, social, racial, LGBTQ, disability, or cyberbullying. We also recognize that such behavior is not confined to schools. Whether the behavior takes place at home, in the community, or online, the harmful effects of inappropriate behavior, including threats and bullying, can be felt on our campuses.
