Eligible employees of Pittsburg Unified School District are offered a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include medical, pharmacy, vision, dental, and life insurance coverage. PUSD also has an Employee Assistance Plan through MHN. The District’s contribution towards employee benefits is determined by an employee's applicable employee group, association, or union.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance programs (EAP), and our retirement systems. - Marriage certificate or domestic partnership registration
Natural Child
- Birth certificate naming the employee as parent
Adopted Child
- Adoption certificate or birth/adoption certificate naming the employee (or spouse/domestic partner) as parent
Step-Child
- Birth certificate naming the employee’s spouse as parent
Domestic Partner’s Child
- Birth certificate naming the employee’s domestic partner as parent
Completed CalPERS questionnaire and medical report
Disabled Dependent (Age 26 or Older)
- Authorization to disclose protected health information
- Physician’s statement certifying disability

Changes can be made only under the following circumstances:
- Within 60-days of hire.
- During annual open enrollment, typically mid Sept - mid Oct.
- Withing 60-days of a "qualifying event". Please note: Proof of your "Qualifying Event" is required.
