Family Engagement

Vision: Our LCAP goals allow every school to embrace a collaborative culture for all parents, families, teachers, and staff that sustains quality parental involvement and promotes the social, emotional, and academic growth of our students so that they are college and career ready upon graduation.

Mission: We believe in fostering partnerships with parents and families by building capability, connections, cognition and confidence so that students develop to their fullest potential and contribute positively to the world.

Beliefs:
  • Parents are their child's first teacher and are respected as a critical asset to their child's academic success.
  • Parents and schools have a shared responisibility for the academic acheivement of their children.
  • Parents have the right to be informed of and involved in their child's academic progress.
  • Parents have the right to be engaged in the decision-making process of the school.

Goals:
1) Welcoming Environment: School sites will foster a warm and welcoming environment and collaborative relationships with parents and families.
2) Communication: Schools and parents will engage in regular, two-way communication about school programs, student progress, school activities, and resources available for students and families.
3) Supporting Student Success: School staff will regularly communicate with parents and families to ensure the academic success of students. School staff will inform parents of community and school workshops that support their child's overall development.
4) Empowerment: Families will be empowered to be advocates for their children to ensure that students have access to learning opportunities and community resources that will support their success.
