PUSD Employee Recognition Program

The goal of Pittsburg Unified School District’s Employee Recognition Program is to identify and honor employees who exemplify our core values and mission of making Pittsburg a better place through their contributions and service to the District.

We recognize and appreciate that Pittsburg Unified is home to talented and dedicated employees who play essential roles in the safety, security, and success of Every Scholar, Every Day. In gratitude, our recognition programs aim to celebrate the valuable contributions of District employees to our scholars, schools, and community.

Teacher of the Year:

The Teacher of the Year Program actively encourages applicants who represent the diverse ethnic and cultural composition of our District's teaching force. The program seeks teachers who demonstrate exemplary personal growth, commitment, positive attitude, and professional skills. The PUSD Teacher of the Year Program celebrates and pays tribute to the tireless efforts of our outstanding teachers, bringing well-deserved recognition to the entire teaching profession.

Equity Award:

The Equity Award was adopted by the PUSD School Board and the PUSD Equity Task Force to honor individuals who have shown dedication to promoting, advocating for, and protecting civil and human rights.

Counselor of the Year:

The School Counselor of the Year Program highlights the achievements, leadership, and accomplishments of our dedicated counselors. It actively encourages nominations for those who exemplify outstanding service to children, stakeholders, and the school counseling profession.

Classified Employee of the Year:

The Classified School Employee of the Year Program seeks nominations for exemplary classified school employees who support and play key roles in promoting student achievement, safety, and health across California's public schools from preschool through grade twelve.
