Emergency Communications
In the event of an emergency at one of our schools, please rely on official information provided by the school or district. Timely updates will be shared through school and district websites, email, phone calls, text messages, ParentSquare, and official district social media accounts.
To ensure you receive important notifications, please verify that your child's school has your most current phone number, email address, and emergency contact information on file.
Your cooperation helps us provide accurate information, reduce misinformation, and support a safe and orderly response during emergencies.
HOW WE PREPARE FOR EMERGENCIES
HOW WE PREPARE FOR EMERGENCIES
Planning/Practice:
Safety Plans: All school sites and district facilities have safety plans in place which are updated yearly and as-needed throughout the year. Contact your child's school for more information.
Drills: Schools regularly conduct safety drills with students and staff to prepare for a variety of potential situations. Drills include procedures for lockdown, earthquake, and fire.
Training:
Staff training and school site training occur throughout the year on various safety related items.
Partnership with Law Enforcement:
We partner with the Pittsburg Police Department to provide School Resource Officers (SROs), which are police officers who serve our schools.
Supplies:
Each site has emergency supplies and equipment, which are inventoried and re-supplied when needed.
